About The Cottage:

This historic stone guest cottage is located in the heart of Five Points, within walking distance to many Athens jewels: The Five and Ten, The Royal Peasant Pub, Condor Chocolates, Jittery Joe's, Earthfare, and Independent Bakery, also blocks from UGA campus and the football stadium. Close parking for Georgia Football events.

The stone cottage was built around 1911 and is very cozy and comfortable. It features hardwood floors, central heat and AC, a large television with Direct TV, wireless internet, and a galley kitchen. One bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, adjoined by a little sleeping room with a twin bed. The mattress and linens are premium quality and very comfortable.

The front of the property is on Milledge Avenue, with a large historic stone house. The guest cottage is in the back very of the property and is surrounded by the backyards of neighboring residences. A historic alley runs behind the cottage and guests can walk to shops and dining in Five Points and avoid Milledge Avenue altogether.

This cottage is perfect for a couple and a child or a secondary guest needing limited space. If another adult guest joins, the arrangement is comfortable if the party does not have too many clothing storage needs. If the party has special needs please communicate your needs in your request. There is an outdoor patio with lounge seating and a picnic table for nice weather. This is very private and quiet.

The kitchen is small and basic and appropriate for basic cooking. There is a gas range, a fridge and microwave, and a coffee maker. There is no dishwasher and no ice maker.

There is a hair dryer, an iron, and an ironing board. There is cable TV with premium channels including sports channels. There is internet directly to the cottage.

About The Stone House:

Welcome to a charming piece of Athens history. This elegant stone house, nestled in the heart of Five Points, offers a perfect blend of comfort and convenience. Enjoy easy walking access to local favorites like The Five and Ten, The Royal Peasant Pub, Condor Chocolates, Jittery Joe's, Earthfare, and Independent Bakery, as well as proximity to UGA’s campus and the football stadium. Convenient parking is available for Georgia Football events.

Built around 1911, this home features beautiful hardwood floors, central heating and air conditioning, a large TV with Direct TV, high-speed wireless internet, and a fully equipped kitchen. The first floor boasts a welcoming den, a spacious living room, a dining area, a well-appointed kitchen, a half bath, and the primary bedroom. The primary bedroom features a king bed and an en-suite full bath. Upstairs, you’ll find a children’s den, a full bath, and two additional bedrooms: one with a king bed and the other with both a single and a full bed. Premium quality mattresses and linens ensure a restful stay.

The property is located on Milledge Avenue and features a large historic stone house. The guest cottage, situated at the rear of the property, is surrounded by quiet residential backyards. A historic alleyway behind the cottage provides easy access to nearby shops and dining, allowing you to explore Five Points without having to navigate Milledge Avenue.

Relax in your private outdoor spaces, including a patio with lounge seating and a garden courtyard with additional seating. Enjoy morning coffee on the charming front porch.

Ideal for families with grown children or small gatherings of friends, the home includes a gas range, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. A hair dryer, iron, and ironing board are provided, along with cable TV featuring premium sports channels and high-speed internet directly to the house.

A cleaning fee applies with a minimum two-night stay. Please be aware that smoking is strictly prohibited on the property, and no pets allowed.

Our neighborhood in the vibrant Five Points area is a treasured asset, so we kindly request that you respect the surroundings. If you wish to host any additional guests during your stay, seek prior approval and provide full details. Large parties and loud events are not permitted, and a maximum of three cars are allowed without prior permission.

PRIVACY: Please be advised that the host resides on this property, please respect that privacy as it relates to social media. Please note there are exterior cameras on the property for security purposes, the host respects all guests' privacy.

Check-in/Check-out:

Arrival time is 4:00 pm and checkout is 11:00 am. We try to accommodate your needs, however as we have many back to back bookings, extensions may be difficult.

Upon your arrival, there is no need to check in, but please do feel free to do so if you have any questions or needs. We will send check-in instructions the morning of your check-in with an access code for the front door.

Any information you may need for your stay will be located on a laminated sheet.

When you depart, please lock the door behind you using the keypad only, not the handle lock from the inside.

Provided for you during your stay: towels & washcloths, Internet, coffee pot, and other essentials.

When you leave, lock the door by pressing the lock icon on the keypad and a blue electronic check will appear, letting you know that it is locked.

PLEASE DO NOT LOCK THE HANDLE LOCK FROM THE INSIDE. There is no key. There is no key to the back door; it locks from the inside only.

Parking:

The Cottage: Parking is limited to two cars maximum unless other arrangements have been made. Please park in the space directly in front of the cottage and park a second car in one of the spaces in the parking area towards the larger house. Only two cars are allowed. Please send the make, model, and license tag of your cars. Please drive slowly and watch for the children.

The Stone House: Parking is limited to three cars maximum unless other arrangements have been made. Please park in the two spaces closest to the Stone House - located behind the house. The third vehicle would park in front on the right side when facing the Stone House. Please send the make, model, and license tag of your cars. Please drive slowly and watch for the children.

Please do not block the alley behind the cottage, but feel free to use the alley to come and go. But beware, it's not ideal for low cars.

Rules:

1. NO SMOKING ALLOWED, OF ANY KIND, AT ALL ON THE PROPERTY.

2. NO PETS ALLOWED.

3. NO PARTIES or large gatherings. No exceptions.

4. No one under 25 years of age unless accompanied by an adult over 25 years old. No groups with people under 25 years of age.

5. No damage to the property or its contents. No linens or towels are lost, missing, or damaged. No dishware or glasses are lost, missing, or damaged. No broken glasses. No glass rims on furniture - use cocktail napkins, please.

6. PARKING – Additional parking on the street- Milledge Terrace. No parking on grass or shrubbery. Please DO NOT BLOCK THE ALLEY that runs behind the cottage. Please send the make, model, and license tag number before check-in.

7. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY- The maximum number of guests for The Cottage is limited to (3) persons. Three - max. The maximum number of guests for The Stone house is limited to (6) persons. Six - max.

8. INCLUSIVE FEES – Rates include a one-time linen-towel setup.

9. NO DAILY MAID SERVICE – While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate however is available at an additional rate. 10. Athens-Clarke County Noise Ordinance Restricts Loud Noise after 11 pm.

11. Do not make any changes to the configuration of hardware or software of the internet infrastructure

12. No hair dyeing. 13. No downloading illegal or copyrighted content from the internet.

14. No photoshoots, video shoots, or recording of imagery for marketing purposes.

15. No downloading illegal or copyrighted content from the internet.

Other things to note:

A note about the internet: The Cottage and The Stone House have designated AT&T fiber optic internet. Due to frequent storms in our area, internet could be lost temporarily.

Condition and Use of Property:

The Property is provided in “as is” condition. The rental agent shall use its best efforts to ensure the operation of all amenities in the Property, such as internet access, satellite or cable TV access, hot tubs, and fireplaces as applicable. The Rental Agent shall not be held responsible for such items' failure to work but will make every effort to correct any issues as reported as quickly as possible. Guest acknowledges that use of amenities such as hot tubs, pools, spas, fireplaces, decks, and the like may be potentially dangerous and involve potential risks if improperly used, particularly for children and such use is at the Guest’s own risk.

Guest shall use the Property for residential purposes only and in a careful manner to prevent any damage or loss to the Property and keep the Property in clean and sanitary condition at all times. Guest and any additional permitted guests shall refrain from loud noise and shall not disturb, annoy, endanger, or inconvenience neighbors, nor shall Guest use the Property for any immoral, offensive, or unlawful purposes, nor violate any law, association rules, or ordinance, nor commit waste or nuisance on or about the Property.

Risk of Loss and Indemnification:

Guest agrees that all personal property, furnishings, personal effects and other items brought into the Property by Guest or their permitted guests and visitors shall be at the sole risk of Guest about any theft, damage, destruction, or other loss, and Rental Agent shall not be responsible or liable for any reason whatsoever.

Guest hereby covenants and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Rental Agent and their agents, owners, successors, employees, and contractors from and against any costs, damages, liabilities, claims, legal fees, and other actions for any damages, costs, attorneys fees incurred by Guest, permitted guests, visitors or agents, representatives or successors of Guest due to any claims relating to the destruction of property or injury to persons or loss of life sustained by Guest or family and visitors of Guest in or about the Property and Guest expressly agrees to save and hold Rental Agent harmless in all such cases.

Release:

Guest hereby waives and releases any claims against Rental Agent, the Property owner, and their successors, assigns, employees, or representatives, officially or otherwise, for any injuries or death that may be sustained by Guest on or near or adjacent to the Property, including any common facilities, activities or amenities. Guest agrees to use any such facilities or amenities entirely at the Guest’s initiative, risk, and responsibility.

Booking:

BOOKINGS ARE HANDLED ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. 50% of the total is required at the time of booking, the remaining 50% is due TWO WEEKS before check-in. The guest will receive an email confirming the requested book dates, upon receiving that email, the first payment must be received within 24 hours.

If payment is not received within the 24-hour window, our staff will make one more attempt to contact you for payment. At which point if payment is not confirmed, the reservation will be canceled, the guest will be notified and those dates will become available for booking once again. You CANNOT transfer or move your reservation once you have booked.

Cancellations:

There is no automated way to cancel a reservation, if you must cancel your reservation please email hello@taylorhillproperties.com with your reservation details. You CANNOT transfer or move your reservation once you have booked. If a cancellation occurs within 48 hours of your booking, the guest can receive a full refund. Any cancelation after 48 hours but before 14 days of your check-in, will not be refunded. If you cancel within 14 days of your check-in date you will NOT be refunded and result in the remaining payment amount will be charged in the event of a cancelation.
